Beginners Sewing for Quilters Classes

If you’ve never used a sewing machine before and have always wanted to learn, you need a refresher course and help to troubleshoot your machine or you’re looking to expand your skills into garment construction, I've got you covered. Our sewing classes are for ages 7+, all genders. Everyone can learn to sew if they want to!
Located in the classroom space of Quiltmania at 1442 Jadwin Ave #C in Richland Washington’s Uptown area, Enola Mae Atelier is currently offering private beginners sewing classes for a maximum of six students at a time only with availability the following dates and times:
Every other Thursday evening from 4pm-5pm PRIVATE SEWING CLASS
Every other Friday evening from 4pm-7pm CLASS IS FULL
The beginners sewing classes are designed to build a strong sewing foundation starting with learning about your sewing machine and the parts of it. We cover sewing room first aid and safety, hand-stitching, basic fiber knowledge,straight and curved seams as well as pivoting and seam allowances. We also cover how to clip, notch and grade seams, read a basic sewing pattern and seam finishes. Each week we’ll be doing a new simple project, each slightly more complex than the one before.
Projects include:
Simple Square quilt block using straight seams
Bloom quilt block using curved seams
T-shirt quilt block introducing principles of working with a stabilized knit
5 weeks of sewing classes is $150 per person. Family rate for a maximum of 3 people from the same household (NO EXCEPTIONS) is $200.
